As a consequence of the diamine treatment a signal emerged around 3400 cm⁻¹ suggesting the formation of amino moieties (b) that is not present on unmodified material (a). Due to extensive hydrogen bonding this peak is extremely broadened. Wettability increases in the course of treatment time (c) and reaches a maximum after 3 h indicating a maximum of surface modification.
