For example, the value of friction force reported in the diagram A1 for a level of malalignment of 1.5 mm represents the average friction force value measured in all the experiments (carried out in the experimental campaign EC1) with a malalignment of 1.5 mm. Similarly, the friction force value reported in the diagram C1 for the Synergy bracket (silicone ligature placed around the inner tie wings) represents the value averaged over all the measurements carried out on a Synergy bracket in the experimental campaign EC1. All the values reported in the figure can be interpreted in the same way.
