Soil porosity () determination by using the traditional (MT) (3) and gamma-ray attenuation (MN1 (4) and MN2 (5)) methods for the 137Cs gamma-ray source for the sandy (a) and clayey (b) soils. RD represents the relative difference between the results of MT and MN (6). Porosities were calculated considering experimental (exp) and calculated (XCOM) mass attenuation coefficients . Maximum and minimum values represent RD obtained from the different positions (-black box and -white box) of soil sample crossed by the gamma-ray beam.
