Updates in Hemoglobinopathies
Description
Major advances have been made in the last decade in understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of hemoglobinopathies. Accordingly, a marked improvement in survival of patients with thalassemia major and other types of hemoglobinopathies was observed. This needs to understand and discuss the novel tools to diagnose, prevent late complications, and treat this group of disorders.
We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles in this field. Potential topics include, but not limited to:
- Epidemiological comparative studies
- Molecular diagnosis of hemoglobinopathies
- Cardiac, endocrinal, renal, and hepatic complications and updates in their diagnosis and management
- Updates in iron chelation
- Assessment of quality of life
- Stem cell transplantation
