Developments in Neurovascular Diseases and Treatments
Description
Neurovascular diseases compromise a heterogeneous group of disorders with a broad spectrum of phenotypes. Recent advances in neurovascular disease include a greater understanding of both the genetic links as well as the basic mechanisms behind the pathophysiology of neurovascular diseases. Improvements in neurovascular diseases have risen from cell cultures, stem cells, and animal models of disease. Additionally, developments in technology lead to improvements in diagnosis including a variety of advances in vascular imaging, medical therapies, and surgical and endovascular therapies.
We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will increase the current understanding of the molecular pathology underlying neurovascular disorders, the development of strategies to treat these conditions, and the evaluation of outcomes. We are particularly interested in articles concerning advances in molecular genetics and molecular diagnostics; improvements in neurovascular imaging; new insights into neurovascular diseases using animal models; developments in the medical treatment of neurovascular diseases including the use of neuroprotection agents, small molecules, SiRNA, stem cells, and viral and nonviral gene therapy strategies; and novel surgical or endovascular strategies to treat neurovascular disorders. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Advances in genetics of neurovascular disease
- Neurovascular disease mechanism using cellular or animal models
- Epidemiology and etiology of neurovascular diseases
- Latest technologies for diagnosis, clinical evaluation, or measuring outcomes
- Developments in imaging of neurovascular diseases
- Novel medical therapies for neurovascular diseases
- Advances in surgical or endovascular treatment of neurovascular disease
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/tswj/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/tswj/neurology/ndt/ according to the following timetable:
