Applications of optimization techniques are well known in the research areas of power systems, control systems, and computer science. The current trends on application of metaheuristics techniques are very popular among the researchers in the areas of power systems, control systems, and computer science across the globe. In this regard, the PCO global conference has organized a successful conference in the research areas of power systems, control systems, and optimization in Prague, Czech Republic, on 25–27^th of August 2013. The well–known and new methodologies on optimization techniques have been used to solve some of the complicated and hard problems in the areas of power systems, control systems, and optimization.

This Special Issue welcomes the best papers from the 7^th Global Conference on Power, Control, and Optimization (PCO’s2013) Prague,Czech Republic.
