Emerging Water Quality Problems in Developing Countries
Description
According to Nobel Laureate Richard Smalley (1996 Noble in chemistry), water is the second, next to energy, among the humanity's top ten problems in the next 50 years. Water, one of the most important factors required for life to sustain on Planet Earth, requires a proper attention in terms of uses as well as treatments. The challenge for scientists and engineers working in the field of water is that they encounter new problems with every passing day, where the effective use of new techniques is becoming inevitable. We hereby invite the authors to submit articles of original researches and reviews that seek to define the emerging water problems and possible technical answers to the arising questions. We are interested in articles that explore various water research domains with relevant techniques. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Emerging water problems in developing countries
- Emerging pollutants in water environment
- Health-related issues of water environment
- Water analysis tools and techniques
- Water/wastewater treatment issues
- Hydrology and hydrogeochemistry
- The role of tracers, modelling, and simulation in water research
- Lake water environment
- Flood-related issues
- The role of coastal ecosystems on water management
- Sustainable water resources management
- Public involvement and participation
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/tswj/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/tswj/environmental.chemistry/wqse/ according to the following timetable:
