Ana M. Aguilera

Ana M. Aguilera was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1967. She received the mathematics degree and the Ph.D. degree (summa cum laude) from the Universidad de Granada (UGR), Granada, Spain, in 1990 and 1993, respectively. Since 1990, Aguilera has been fully dedicated to teaching and researching at the Department of Statistics and O.R. of UGR. Since 1996, she has been the Head of the research team of several research projects funded by the Spanish government. In addition to publishing research papers in reputable journals, she has acted as a reviewer for journals of high impact and is currently an Associate Editor of the journals Computational Statistics and Recent Patents on Computer Sciences. She has supervised several Ph.D. and M.Phil students. She has also attended many national and international conferences, some of them as an invited speaker in specialized sessions. She began her research career in the field of stochastic processes, and her main research topics at present are functional data analysis and stochastic modelling and forecasting. Currently, she is the Director of the group Functional Data Analysis from the Spanish Society of Statistics and Operations Research.
