Vladimir Sedlarik is an Associate Professor at Polymer Centre, Faculty of Technology, Tomas Bata University, Zlín, Czech Republic. In 2003, he got his M.S. degree in environmental technology, from Faculty of Technology, Tomas Bata University, Zlín, Czech Republic. In 2006, he defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled “Biodegradable polymers based on dairy waste” and received Werner von Siemens Excellence Award for the doctoral thesis. He has been employed as a Researcher at Polymer Centre, Faculty of Technology, Tomas Bata University in Zlín since 2006. Sedlarik took a study stay within the program Ad-futura, Jozef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2010. He received the title associate professor in the field of technology of macromolecular substances. He worked as Vice-Rector for research and development at Tomas Bata University in Zlín in 2012. Professor Sedlarik fields of interest include synthesis and processing of biodegradable polymers, polymeric medical devices, antimicrobial polymers, water-soluble polymers, and surface modifications of polymers.
