Pavel Urban graduated from Faculty of General Medicine, Charles University, Prague in (1966-1972). Urban had his specialization in neurology, first degree in 1977 and specialization in neurology, second degree in 1981. In 1989, he received a Ph.D. degree in the use of evoked potentials in occupational neurology. In 1992, he had a study stay at Universität-Klinik für Neurologie, Innsbruck. In 1997, he study stay at the State University of New York, School of Public Health. In 2005, he received a Habilitation degree in preventive medicine at the 3rd Medical School, Charles University, Prague. He was affiliated to the National Institute of Public Health by 2011 where he served as the Head of the Center of Public Health Protection and Promotion and Deputy Director of the Institute, which was designated as a WHO Collaborating Center in Occupational Health. He was in charge of the Czech National Registry of Occupational Diseases. In addition, he served as Consultant Neurologist and Lecturer at the Department of Occupational Diseases, 1st Medical School, Charles University, Prague. Besides, he served as an External Lecturer at the Department of Neurology, Postgraduate School of Medicine, Prague. He serves as a Member of the Board of the Czech Society of Occupational Medicine, a Member of the Section of Occupational Neurology at the Czech Neurological Society, Member of the Government Council for Occupational Health and Safety, Czech National Delegate in the EC/EUROSTAT Working Group on EODS, Czech National Delegate in the EC Technical Group on Musculoskeletal Disorders, Czech National Delegate in the EC Working Party on Occupational Diseases, Member of the Council of the Occupational Safety Research Institute, Member of the Czech Board for Certification in Neurology, and Member of the Czech Board for Certification in EEG. He has about 200 publications in total: Of them 24 publication in journals with IF and 5 chapters in various monographs and about 80 citations according to SCI (after exclusion of autocitations).
