Luciano Musumeci

Politecnico di Torino, Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, Italy

Luciano Musumeci received his M.S. degree in telecommunication engineering from Polytechnic University of Turin, Turin, Italy, in 2010. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree studies at Polytechnic University of Turin, Department of Electronics and Telecommunications. Since January 2011, he is part of the Navigation Signal Analysis and Simulation (NavSAS) group. His research activity is mainly focused on development and performance analysis of new signal processing based techniques for pulsed interference detection and mitigation for GNSS aviation applications. As a part of his Ph.D. degree program, he spent six months at the navigation section of the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESA/ESTEC), under the Prestige program, working on the impact of Distance Measuring Equipment on GNSS receiver performance. His research work is currently focused on the investigation and development of innovative receiver based interference detection and mitigation algorithm able to cope with different type of interfering signal. Recently, he started to investigate the potential impact of the use of a simple pulsed interference mitigation algorithm as the pulse blanking on the SBAS navigation message demodulation performance.
