Zain Ul-Abdin

Dr. Zain-ul-Abdin completed his PhD degree in Computer Science from Örebro University in 2011 and has been working as Post-Doctoral Researcher at Halmstad University since then. Before joining the academia, He has been involved in embedded hardware design and firmware implementation for more than 6 years. During his academic career, he has played a key role in a number of research projects such as Embedded Parallel Computing (EPC), Smart Multicore Embedded Systems (SMECY), Jump to Manycore Platforms (JUMP), and Streaming Applications on Embedded High-Performance Commercial Platforms (STAMP). He has worked in close collaboration with industrial partners such as ST- Microelectronics, Ericsson Mobile Platforms, and Saab Electronic Defence Systems in these projects. He has authored 15 international journal and conference articles and has been awarded the best paper prize in the PhD forum of 19th International Conference on Field programmable Logic and Applications (FPL’09). His main research interests are high-performance embedded processing with a focus on reconfigurable architectures and the parallel programming models suitable for such massively parallel architectures. According to Google Scholar, his publications have 39 citations with an h-index of 3.
