Ahmed A. Al‐Amiery was born in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1975. He obtained the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in 1998 and 2007, respectively, from Al‐Mustansyriah University, Baghdad, Iraq, and the M.S. degree from Baghdad University, Baghdad, Iraq, in 2001. He was carrying out postdoctoral work with Professor Dr. Abdul Amir H. Kadhum. Al‐Amiery started his job at the Applied Science Department at the University of Technology as an Assistant Lecturer in organic chemistry, in 2002, and subsequently was promoted to the rank of Lecturer, in 2005, and then Assistant Professor, in 2008. Since June 2013, he has been a Professor of organic chemistry. Al‐Amiery is the recipient of the Science Day Award in Chemistry, for the years 2011, 2012, and 2013. His research program focuses on the synthesis of applicable molecules (biological molecules or molecules as corrosion inhibitors). He has international patent in addition to more than 70 published articles.
