Hamid M. Lankarani serves as a Professor of mechanical engineering and as a Senior Fellow of the National Institute for Aviation Research, at Wichita State University. He received his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering in 1988 from the University of Arizona. He is one of the world’s leading researchers and educators in the field of multibody and impact dynamics and its application to automotive and aircraft crashworthiness, occupant protection, structural impact, and injury biomechanics. Dr. Lankarani is the recipient of several national and university educational and research awards. He has been awarded over 10 million dollars of funding for research projects from the US government, state, industry, and international sources. Dr. Lankarani has directed more than 250 graduate student theses and dissertations, and has been the author of over 300 articles in reputable journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings. Dr. Lankarani has served as a Technical Editor or a member of the editorial boards for a number of international journals. He serves as a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering.
