Academic degree: Doctoral Degree at the Faculty of Medicine II, University of Medical Sciences. University of Medical Sciences. Year of completion 2006. Title thesis: " Analysis of candidate genes associated with the dopaminergic and serotoninergic system in anorexia nervosa" Title of qualification awarded: Doctor of Medicine in the field of medical biology Master's Degree at the Faculty of Biology, A. Mickiewicz University in Poznan, specializing in molecular biology. Year of completion 2001. Thesis title: " Analysis of candidate genes in the dopaminergic system in schizophrenia " Title of qualification awarded: Master of Biology Current position: A senior specialist and laboratory diagnostician in the Psychiatric Genetics Unit, Department of Psychiatry, Poznan University of Medical Sciences Areas of expertise: Since 1999 I have been taking part in the genetic research, conducted in the Psychiatric Genetics Unit of the Psychiatry Department, on searching for candidate genes and their polymorphic variants involved in creating predispositions to mental disorders. Especially I am interested in biological background of the pathogenesis of eating disorders– mainly anorexia nervosa, which so far has been the leading subject of my scientific work. In the circle of my interests is also pharmacogenetics and in the relationship between polymorphisms in candidate genes and their influence on response for example to lithium prophylaxis in bipolar disorder patients. I expanded my range of interests with the issues of biological markers (endophenotypes) that could be a useful tool in predicting development and diagnostics of a disease.
