Paul R. Murphy

Paul R. Murphy was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1953. He received a Ph.D. degree in endocrinology from Dalhousie University in 1983. From 1983 to 1989, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Physiology at the University of Manitoba, and in 1989 he joined the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Dalhousie University as Assistant Professor. Since 2001, he has been Professor and Head of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics. His interests include endocrinology, the role of hormones and growth factors in cancer, and the regulation of gene expression by natural antisense RNAs.
