Ranganatha Sitaram has a combined experience of about 16 years as a Research Scientist/Engineer in the following institutions: Department of Atomic Research (India), Information Technology Institute (Singapore), Kent Ridge Digital Labs (Singapore), and Institute of Medical Psychology and Behavioural Neurobiology (Germany). He has carried out research in the following fields: information and communication systems, artificial intelligence, robotics, knowledge systems and algorithms, medical engineering, neuroimaging techniques, and brain-computer interfaces using EEG, NIRS, and fMRI. He is the author of 4 international granted patents, 2 international pending patents, and more than 15 publications. He is experienced in designing, and developing and project-managing software systems for research and industry. He is currently involved in a DFG-SFB 437 project on real-time fMRI system for treating psychopathy, and also an international collaboration with the Institute of Infocomm Research (Singapore) and Tokyo Institute of Psychiatry (Japan) for developing a NIRS brain-computer interface.
