Kimihiko Yasuda is a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Aichi Institute of Technology, Toyota, Japan and Professor Emeritus at Nagoya University, Japan. He received his B.Eng., M.Eng., and D.Eng. degrees at Nagoya University in 1963, 1965, and 1968, respectively. His research interests are nonlinear dynamics, vibrational analysis of machines, dampers, and cars. Dr. Yasuda received various honors and awards such as the Prize for Science and Technology from DMC Division of Japan Society Mechanical Engineering (JSME) (2002) and the Prize for Science and Technology from Tokai Branch of JSME (2000). Moreover, he was an Honorary Member of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineering in 2006 as well as a Member of the Advisory Board, Nonlinear Dynamics, International Journal of Dynamics and Chaos in Engineering Systems from 1996 till 2009. Dr. Yasuda's recent book publications are Fundamental Mechanics of Machines, Corona Publishing Co., Ltd, (2009), Mechanical Acoustics, Corona Publishing Co., Ltd, (2004), and Vibration Engineering (Fundamentals, Second Course), Corona Publishing Co., Ltd, (2000, 2001).
