Alexandra Harvey

University of Melbourne, Australia

Alexandra Harvey is a Research Fellow in the School of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Science. Her research work concentrates on understanding the maintenance and differentiation of embryonic stem cells in culture and the regulators of preimplantation embryo development. Her approach concentrates on learning how environmental cues and changing cell metabolism regulate the behaviour of embryonic stem cells and their progeny and the early embryo. She has a particular interest in the regulation of mitochondrial function, as well as the interplay between metabolites and the epigenome in establishing cellular memory.
