Yoshiyuki Hari received his M.S. degree in 1999 and obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2002 from Osaka University, supervised by Professor Takeshi Imanishi. He was granted the JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists from 2001 to 2002, and he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nagoya City University, from 2002 to 2008. Meanwhile, he worked with the group of Professor Floyd E. Romesberg at the Department of Chemistry, The Scripps Research Institute, as a Visiting Scientist for one year. He was promoted to be a Lecturer at the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nagoya City University, in 2008. He moved to the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Osaka University, as an Associate Professor in 2009. In 2015, he became a Professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tokushima Bunri University. His current research interests include the development of functional nucleic acids for nucleic acid-based technologies and the development of synthetic methods of heterocycles.
