Valdemar Esteves

Since 1986, Valdemar Inocêncio Esteves, has been working in the field of Environmental Analytical Chemistry with special interest in the Pharmaceuticals and their metabolites in the environment; modified Bio-wastes for remediation of environments contaminated with organic pollutants; natural organic matter, namely humic substances; interaction of xenobiotics with organic matter; photodegradation of organic pollutants; low cost methodologies for environmental analysis including imuno assay analysis for environmental pollutants. He was the Coordinator of 3 projects and participates as team member in more than 10 national and international projects. He supervised or is supervising 6 Pos-Doc, 12 PhDs, and 26 master students. He authored more than 100 ISI papers , a chapter of a book and 2 patents. Valdemar Inocêncio Esteves is professor in the Department of Chemistry and a member of the Board of Director, member of Scientific Council Coordinating Committee, and Principal Investigator of the Research Group – Environmental Processes and Pollutants, of the Associate Laboratory, CESAM, University of Aveiro, Portugal.
