Carlos Simon obtained his M.D. degree with the Award of Excellence from the University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain, in 1985 and has been board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology since 1991. Dr. Simon completed his Ph.D. degree at the University of Valencia and received a postdoctoral grant for a fellowship on reproductive endocrinology at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA, from 1991 to 1994. After his return to Spain, he obtained economical support for his investigation by 13 projects granted by the Spanish Government, 4 by the Valencian Government, 1 by the Basque Government, and 14 by international organizations and American universities. At present, he is a Professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Valencia (UV), Director of FundaciĆ³n IVI (FIVI), Scientific Director at Prince Felipe Research Center (CIPF), and Director of the Valencia Node of the Spanish Stem Cells Bank at CIPF. The scientific impact of his work has led to the publication of 264 peer-reviewed papers in international journals with a total impact factor of 1032.224 that has received 6.412 citations with a mean of 24.29 citations/paper. His H-Index is 43. Dr. Simon is the inventor of 7 international and 4 national patent applications.
