Lamia Jaafar Belaid

Lamia Jaafar Belaid was born in Tunis, Tunisia, on January 1, 1970. She received the Ph.D. degree in pure mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis in 1998 with a thesis on "Generalized radon transform on hypergroups and wavelets theory." Since 2003, her research interests have been in computational and image processing. These include work on image restoration, edge detection, texture segmentation, and reconstruction in medical imaging. Since 1996, she has been an Assistant in mathematics at the High School of Sciences and Techniques in Tunis and since 2005 an Assistant Professor in mathematics at the Engineering National School, Tunis. She received the Habilitation Universitaire degree in June 2009, and since September 2009, she is connected with the Faculty of Sciences of Dammam, Dammam University, Saudi Arabia within the framework of a technical cooperation between Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.
