Peter S. Roland

Dr. Roland is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is a Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is Board certified in both Otolaryngology and Neurotology. He completed his medical school training at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, his residency training at Penn State University and his fellowship with the Otology PC in Nashville, Tennessee. Since 1985 he has been a full time faculty member at UT Southwestern. Dr. Roland has published over 140 articles in peer reviewed journals and 40 book chapters. He is the author of two books: Hearing Loss and Ototoxicity. Dr. Roland's special interest is cochlear implantation. He started the cochlear implant program at UT Southwestern Medical Center which has now implanted approximately 500 adults and children.
