She was born in Sukhothai, Thailand, in 1962. She received Bachelor and Master Degrees in Biochemistry from Chulalongkorn University and Mahidol University, Thailand, in 1984 and 1987, respectively. In 1995, she received a scholarship from Thai government to study Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Professor Schreiber’s laboratory at the University of Melbourne, Australia. At present, she is an Associate Professor and deputy head of the Biochemistry department at Prince of Songkla University, Thailand. Her research mainly concerns thyroid hormone (TH) and its protein transporter, transthyretin (TTR). The study specifically includes function and molecular action of TH on development of vertebrates, the effect of endocrine disrupters on gene expression, structure-function relationship of TTR, and TTR related amyloidosis.
