Isabel C.F.R. Ferreira serves as the Head of the BioChemCore Lab at Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (, Principal Researcher of Food Safety and Technology Group of Mountain Research Center (CIMO, and Coordinator Professor at the mentioned Institute. Ferreira holds Aggregation, Ph.D., and M.S. degrees in chemistry and first degree in biochemistry. Ferreira won the Gulbenkian research award, is the principal investigator of several funded projects, supervisor of several post doc, Ph.D., and M.S. students, and is the author of 180 publications indexed to ISI in Food Science and Medicinal Chemistry areas. Her main research interests include chemical and nutritional composition of wild mushrooms, medicinal plants, and dry fruits from Northeast Portugal, and bioactivity (antioxidant, antimicrobial, and antitumour properties) of natural matrixes or synthesized compounds.
