Hyunsu Bae

Hyunsu Bae has worked as a Professor in the Department of Oriental Medicine, Kyung Hee University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, since 1999. He received his M.D. degree (specialized in oriental medicine) from the same university in 1989 and the Ph.D. degree from the College of Medicine, University of Illinois, Chicago, IL, USA, in 1996. He continued his academic career in the Institute of Neuroscience, Northwestern University, Chicago, IL, USA, and the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA, until 1999. His main research fields include the mechanism and function of herbal medicines on immunological disorders, the modulation of helper T cell development by herbal medicine and acupuncture, and the communication between immune and neuronal system and its modulation by complementary medicine.
