Technological University of Delft, The Netherlands

Ioan E. Lager was born in Brasov, Romania, on September 26, 1962. He received the M.S. degree from Transylvania University, Brasov, Romania, the Ph.D. degree from the Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, and the second Ph.D. degree from Transylvania University in 1987, 1996, and 1998, respectively, all in electrical engineering. He has held research and academic positions in Transylvania University and the Delft University of Technology. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Delft University of Technology. He was a Visiting Scientist with Schlumberger-Doll Research, Ridgefield, CT, USA, in 1997. He is involved in research on bridging the gap between electromagnetic field theory and design and implementation and physical measurement of radio-frequency front-end architectures. He is active in several antenna engineering European networks, primarily in the “VISTA” COST Action. His current research interests include computational electromagnetics and antenna engineering, with an emphasis on pulsed-field electromagnetic propagation and nonperiodic (interleaved) array antenna architectures.
