Andreas Lanitis received his B.Eng. degree in electronic and electrical engineering, in 1991, followed by his Ph.D. degree in image processing and computer vision, in 1995, both from the University of Manchester, Manchester, UK. Subsequently, he was a Research Associate at the Division of Imaging Science and Biomedical Engineering, University of Manchester, UK. Between 1997 and 2007, Lanitis was at the School of Sciences and Engineering, Cyprus College, Cyprus. Since 2007, he joined the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, Cyprus University of Technology, Cyprus, where he serves as an Associate Professor. His main research interests focused on applications involving face-image interpretation, face-image restoration and synthesis, automatic age progression, age estimation, noninvasive multimodal human-computer interaction, and design and evaluation of multimedia systems for cultural heritance applications. Dr. Lanitis published more than 100 papers in scientific journals, edited books, or conference proceedings.
