Ana Isabel Becerro

Ana Isabel Becerro obtained her Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry at the University of Seville (Spain). She carried out a two-year postdoctoral stay at the Forschung Institut für Geochemie und Geophysik (Bayerisches Geoinstitut) in Bayreuth (Germany) with a contract from a Marie Curie Research Training Network called “Mineral Transformations”. After a “Ramón y Cajal” research contract in the University of Seville, she got a permanent position at the Materials Science Institute of Seville (CSIC). She has published more than 60 scientific papers in SCI journals and presented more than 50 contributions to scientific meetings in the fields of solid state chemistry, geosciences, neutrons and X-ray diffraction, and NMR spectroscopy. Her current research lines are focused into two main fields: “Silicate-based materials and Minerals: Synthesis, Structure and Properties” and “Rare earth–based nanophosphors for optoelectronic and biomedical applications”.
