Cassia Maria Buchalla

Cassia Maria Buchalla was born in Brazil in 1954. She graduated from the School of Medicine in 1978 and received the Ph.D. degree in public health from the University of Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil, in 1993. Since 1979, she has been working at the WHO Collaborating Center for the WHO Family of International Classifications in which group she was elected as a Cochair for the Education and Implementation Committee in 2008-2010 and re-elected for another two years. Presently, she serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Epidemiology from the School of Public Health (USP). She is mainly interested in HIV/AIDS prevention studies, being a Founding Member of the NEPAIDS (Nucleus on AIDS Prevention Studies). She has been serving as a Coresponsible of courses and disciplines on Scientific Writing and Epidemiology at the USP.
