Quamber H. Nagpurwala

Quamber H. Nagpurwala obtained the B.E. (Mech.Eng.) degree from University of Indore, Indore, India, in 1968, and the M.Tech. degree in thermal turbomachines from IIT(M), Chennai, India, in 1972. He joined as Scientist B Propulsion Division of National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bangalore, India, in December 1972, and rose to the level of Scientist G (Scientist in Director's Grade). He was associated with the Axial Compressor Research Group and became the Head of the group in 1992. He was involved in applied research on axial flow compressors through in-house and sponsored projects. He was also involved in research projects having international collaboration with Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing, China, as well as with University of Technology Aachen, Aachen, Germany. He was awarded DAAD Long-Term Fellowship (December 1977 to March 1979) and DAAD Short-Term Fellowship (July to September 1998) to pursue research in axial flow compressors at University of Technology, Aachen, Germany. After superannuation from NAL in April 2005, Nagpurwala joined M. S. Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies (now a part of M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences), Bangalore, India, in September 2005, as teaching faculty Member and continues till date. He has guided over 30 M.S. level students. He is a Member of various professional societies. He has published about 70 technical papers in journals and conferences and has authored about 25 NAL internal reports.
