Isabelle Chemin

Isabelle A. Chemin is leading research programs at INSERM1052 in Lyon, France (Hepatocarcinogenesis and viral infection). Dr Chemin worked on projects concerning hepatitis B natural history and animal models. She spent several years at the International agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) on HBV-AFB1 interaction and in the University of Freiburg (Germany) on HBV animal models and new anti-HBV treatments. Since several years she focused on HBV variants and Hepatocellularcarcinoma (HCC), including predictive markers for HCC development. She has developed several collaborative subjects (industry/Academia), including with South America (Venezuela, Columbia, Brazil), and North Africa (Morocco) and Singapur. Dr Chemin has published original papers and reviews in the areas of hepatitis induced by HBV alone or in co infection with HCV or due to occult HBV infections. Her current interests include HBV variants, animal models for HBV infection, HCC and development of new therapeutic approaches of chronic hepatitis in order to prevent HCC.
