Marcos Dias Pereira

Marcos Dias Pereira was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1975. He graduated from the Federal Rio de Janeiro State University (UNIRIO), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, majored in biological sciences. He obtained his M.S. degree in 1999 and his Ph.D. degree in biochemistry of oxidative stress at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2003. He currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Biochemistry at the Chemistry Institute in Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is an author of 21 scientific papers in the field of oxidative stress response in the Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells, a Member of the Brazilian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and a reviewer for several international journals in the area of oxidative stress. He works in the fields of oxidative stress, natural and synthetic antioxidants as well as drug cyto and genotoxicity in Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells.
