David Bolzonella serves as an Assistant Professor in chemical engineering at the Department of Biotechnology, University of Verona, Verona, Italy. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in environmental sciences from the University Cà Foscari of Venice and a Ph.D. degree in industrial biotechnology from the University of Verona in 2003. He has been visiting professor at the University of California Irvine, USA and the University of Southampton, UK. His main research interests are related to the anaerobic treatment of civil, industrial and agricultural waste for methane and hydrogen production and to the study of advanced processes for wastewater treatment. He is a member of the International Water Association (IWA), the Water Environment Federation (WEF), and the US-based Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP).
