Ikhlas A. Khan

Ikhlas A. Khan received his B.S. degree in chemistry and biology from the Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India, in 1980. He obtained his M.S. degree in organic chemistry in 1982 at the same university. In 1987, he received his Ph.D. degree in pharmacy under the direction of Professor H. Wagner at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Biology, Munich, Germany ( FRG ). Dr. Khan joined the Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (RIPS), University of Mississippi as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in 1988. In 1990, he received a postdoctoral position with the Department of Pharmacy, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland. In 1992, he was appointed as a Research Scientist in RIPS, University of Mississippi. Khan was also appointed as a Research Assistant Professor in RIPS and received a joint appointment in the Department of Pharmacognosy in 1995. In 2001, he was promoted to be an Associate Professor of pharmacognosy and Research Associate Professor in the National Center for Natural Products. In addition, in 2002, he was appointed as an Assistant Director of the National center for Natural Products Research. In 2005, Khan was promoted to be a Professor of pharmacognosy and Research Professor in RIPS.
