Mark T. Keegan
Mark T. Keegan was born in Dublin, Ireland. He graduated from Trinity College Medical School in 1992. He trained in internal medicine and was awarded membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCPI) in 1995. Thereafter, Dr. Keegan trained in anesthesia at the MANCH Hospital group in Dublin before moving to the United States. Between 1996 and 1999, he was a resident in anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minn, USA. After completing a fellowship in anesthesiology critical care in 2000, Dr. Keegan joined the faculty at Mayo Clinic, Rochester where he is currently a Consultant in anesthesiology and critical care and an Associate Professor at Mayo Medical School. He was certified in anesthesiology and in critical care by the American Board of Anesthesiology in 2001 and is presently completing an M.S. degree in clinical research at Mayo Graduate School. Dr. Keegan’s main research interests include the development and clinical application of intensive care unit scoring systems, care of the potential organ donor, and the perioperative management of patients undergoing liver transplantation.
