Michal Krsek is a specialist in internal medicine and endocrinology. He graduated from the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, Prague in 1988 and received his postgraduate qualification in internal medicine in 1991 and in endocrinology in 1997. In 2008, he became a Full Professor of internal medicine at the Charles University in Prague. He organized the 3rd EFES Regional Postgraduate Course in Endocrinology (2004) in Prague and was a Cochair of the LOC and Member of the POC of the European Congress of Endocrinology in Prague, in 2010. His clinical work comprises a whole spectrum of endocrine disorders with special emphasis on clinical neuroendocrinology and pituitary and adrenal disorders. His research interests focus on neuroendocrinology, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axes, adrenal disorders, pathogenesis of insulin resistance in endocrine disorders, and physiology of GH-IGF axis.
