Figen Cizmeci Senel

Figen Cizmeci Senel works currently as an Associate Professor and Chairman at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dentistry, Karadeniz Technical University, Trabzon, Turkey. She received her D.D.S. degree from the University of Ankara, Ankara, Turkey, in 1994. Also at the University of Ankara, she obtained her Ph.D. degree in oral and maxillofacial surgery, in 2001. Dr. Senel worked as a Research Fellow at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC between 2001/2002 and 2009. She also participated in the “Introduction to the principles and practice of clinical research program” at The National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Senel has been working as a Chairman at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dentistry, Karadeniz Technical University, since 2004 and became an Associate Professor in 2007. She is an Active Member of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Society and the Turkish Dental Association. She has numerous publications; her research interests are advanced implant surgery, biomaterials, conscious sedation, trauma and bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaws.
