Evzen Amler received his Dr.rer.natIn degree in 1982, from Charles University, Prague, Czechoslovakia. He was a Ph.D. degree student from1983 till 1985 at the Institute of Physiology, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague, Czechoslovakia, where he worked there as a Scientist from 1985 till 1993, and then a Senior Scientist from 1995 till 2002. In 2003 he served there as a Head of Protein Structure Department till 2004. In year 2004, he became head of Biophysics Department at the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, Czech Republic. In 2005, he served as the Head of Tissue Engineering Department, Institute of Experimental Medicine, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, and then as an Associated Professor at Medical Biophysics, at Charles University, Czech Republic. In 2012, Amler became a Professor at Medical Biophysics, Charles University in Prague. He has also been a Visiting Scientist from 1989 till 1991 at Laboratory of W.J.Ball, Department of Pharmacology and Cell Biophysics, University of Cincinnati, USA. from 1990 till 1994, he worked as a Visiting Scientist, Laboratory of J.Lakowicz, Center for Fluorescence Spectroscopy, University of Maryland, USA. In 1992, he was a Visiting Scientist at the Institute of Biochemistry, University of Ancona, Ancona, Italy. He has been an investigator or co-investigator of about 40 Czech or international projects, and a Member of several associations such as Specialty Council (postgraduate doctoral studies of biomedical fields) in medical biophysics, Connective Tissue Society of the Czech Medical Association J. Ev. Purkyne , and Medical Biophysics Society of the Czech Medical Association J. Ev. Purkyne. His fields of interests are tissue engineering, controlled drug delivery, nanotechnology and technology transfer.
