Jian Guo Zhou

Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom 0000-0002-4262-1898

Jian Guo Zhou graduated from Wuhan University, Hubei, China, with his B.S. degree in river mechanics and engineering, and subsequently completed his M.S. degree in fluvial mechanics at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He received his Ph.D. degree in fluid mechanics from Leeds University, Leeds, UK. Since then, he has been working in the development and application of mathematical models and numerical methods for coastal, estuary, hydraulic, and river engineering including sediment transport. This covers the modern numerical techniques (lattice Boltzmann methods), high-resolution Riemann solver, Cartesian cut-cell method, and pressure correction methods (SIMPLE, SIMPLER, and SIMPLC). He has authored the first research monograph on the lattice Boltzmann methods for shallow water flows.
