David F. Lewis

David F. Lewis finished medical school at Louisiana State University in 1985. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, La, in 1989 and his fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of California, Irvine in 1991. He began his academic career at LSU, where he later started the perinatal services at that institution. Over his 20-year career, Dr. Lewis has served as the Residency Program Director at the University of Kentucky (1998–2002) and as the Professor and Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Louisiana State University School of Medicine (2002–2007). Dr. Lewis joined the faculty at the University of Cincinnati in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in November, 2007 as a Professor and Vice Chair of Obstetrics, where he also is Director of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Lewis has been very active in research with over 90 peer reviewed publications. His interests include preterm labor, premature rupture of membranes, preeclampsia, and prematurity. He belongs to several professional societies, including ACOG, SMFM, CAOG, and ISSHP.
