Dino Musmarra has been an Associate Professor of chemical plants at the Faculty of Engineering, the Second University of Naples (SUN), since 2001. After graduating as a chemical engineer from the University of Naples Federico II, he started his career as a researcher in the Combustion Research Institute of the National Research Council in 1986. He got his Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering in 1989. Musmarra is the author of more than sixty papers in international and national scientific journals and books. He currently serves as the Deputy Director of CIRIAM, Environmental Engineering Research Centre, SUN, Deputy Director of SAFS, Postgraduate School of Safety, SUN, and Director of Master Science Course on Safety Engineering, SUN. His teaching activity focuses on pollution reduction technology, flue gas treatment plants, and solid waste treatment plants. His main research areas include flue gas desulphurization from thermal power plants, micropollutant removal from waste incinerator exhaust gas, heat transfer in fluidized bed reactors, and industrial wastewater treatment.
