Rita Ebner

Rita Ebner (born on 5th May 1975 in Vienna, Austria) received her diploma (2000) in quantum physics and her Ph.D. (2003) in material physics at the University of Vienna, Austria. The topic of her thesis was the effect of current collection at active grain boundaries of multicrystalline Si photovoltaic devices. In addition she worked as scientific employee (1999-2004) in the solar cell group, at the Atomic Institute of the Austrian Universities and was responsible for the EU-Project “BIOMODE” (development of bifunctional photovoltaic modules for building integration). 2003 she started as lector at the college of renewable energies (TGM, Vienna). From 2004 to 2006 she managed EU-projects in the field of nano- and microtechnology at the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), division for European and international programmes (EIP). 2007 she moved to the industry and was in charge of the research and development of a new generation of solar cells at the KIOTO Photovoltaics GmbH (Carinthia). Since 2009 she is employed as scientist and project manager at the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), Department Energy, Photovoltaic Systems. She is specialised in photovoltaics and responsible for national and international research projects in this field.
