Ahmed Almobarak currently works as Assistant Professor of pathology, Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine-University of Medical Sciences and Technology and Consultant Cytopathologist at the University Teaching Hospital, Lusaka, Zambia. Dr. Almobarak graduated from Khartoum University in 1996. He was obtained his Clinical M.D. in pathology 2002 and Diploma in cytopathology in 2004. He served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology from 2005 up to now. He was involved in teaching cytopathology for the postgraduate students of Clinical M.D. degree in pathology at the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies, Khartoum University since 2006. Dr. Almobarak has published in the area of clinical pathology and cytopathology. His recent main research interests are in diagnostic cytopathology with especial interest in radiologically guided FNAC of focal liver lesions including the relatively prevalent hepatocellular carcinoma. He is also a pioneer in ultrasound and CT scan-guided FNAC, intraoperative cytology in Sudan and establishment of a curriculum for postgraduate M.S. degree especially designed to graduate cytoscreeners. Dr. Almobarak is currently active in diagnosis of liver cancers and consultant to Roche Diagnostics, Medical Insurance Corporation, Laboratory sector, and other health care providers in Sudan.
