Lúcia H. Faccioli

Lúcia Helena Faccioli is a Full Professor of immunology in the Department of Clinical Analyses, Toxicology and Bromatology in the Pharmaceutical School of Ribeirão Preto, at the University of São Paulo, in Brazil. She is also 1A Research of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and at present time is the Treasurer of the Brazilian Society of Immunology. Dr. Faccioli is a Member of the Basic and Applied Immunology and Bioscience Applied to Pharmacy Programs to graduate students, at the São Paulo University. Her projects are funded by the FAPESP (Foundation to Support Research in São Paulo State) and CNPq and aimed to investigate the role of lipid mediators in the immune response to infectious diseases, with emphasis on tuberculosis and histoplasmosis. Also, her laboratory is dedicated to studying natural products, such as plant products and venoms and its toxins, with inflammatory or anti-inflammatory activities and to develop new formulations to deliver lipid mediators or venom components.
