Lawrence A. Kelley

Lawrence A. Kelley was born in New York, USA, in 1972. He received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Christ Church, University of Oxford, in 1994. He received his Ph.D. degree in biomolecular computing from the University of Leicester in 1997. From 1997 to 2001, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London, where he developed one of the first widely used protein structure prediction systems on the web called 3D PSSM. From 2001 to the present, he has been working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Imperial College London. His primary interest is the prediction of protein 3D structure from sequence. He is the primary developer of the Phyre protein structure prediction web service which is widely used by the community. His expertise lies in protein sequence/structure relationships, machine learning, remote homology detection, and protein function prediction.
