Frank T. Fisher

Frank Fisher has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, since August 2004. Dr. Fisher earned B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and applied mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh, and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering and learning sciences (School of Education and Social Policy) from Northwestern University. Dr. Fisher received his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University in December 2002 for his dissertation entitled “Nanomechanics and the viscoelastic behavior of carbon nanotube-reinforced polymers.” After completing his dissertation he worked for two years as a postdoctoral research associate for the Biologically Inspired Materials (BIMat) Center at Northwestern University. Professor Fisher is Codirector of the Nanotechnology Graduate Program at Stevens (www.stevens.edu/nano), and is a recent recipient of the Harvey N. Davis Distinguished Teaching Assistant Professor Award.
