Melanie E. Royce

Melanie E. Royce works as a Professor (with tenure) in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine, University of New Mexico Cancer Center (UNMCC) in Albuquerque, NM, USA. She received her M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. She completed her Residency in internal medicine at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn, USA, and a Medical Oncology Fellowship at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Tex, USA. As Director of the Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic and Programs at UNMCC, Dr. Royce is engaged in the care of breast cancer patients and overseas clinical research and community outreach in breast cancer. Dr. Royce is a Principal Investigator for several breast cancer clinical trials at UNMCC, is the Principal Investigator for the Minority-Based Community Clinical Oncology Program (MB-CCOP) grant of UNM, and was the MB-CCOP Representative to the NCI Breast Cancer Steering Committee (BCSC) until April 2012. She is a Member of the Executive Working Group, Breast Cancer Committee of the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG). She serves on the New Mexico Department of Health Medical Advisory Board for the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program and the New Mexico Cancer Council.
