Rajendra S. Adhikari

Rajendra S. Adhikari is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Building Environment Sciences and Technology (BEST), Politecnico di Milano, Italy. He was graduated in physics from the G.B.Pant University Pantnagar, India in 1987. After obtaining the Ph.D. degree in energy Studies from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi (1993), he has worked as a Research Scientist for the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources, Government of India (1993–1995). Further, he pursued a specialized M.S. degree in energy and environmental economics and management (Master MEDEA) at the International Institute for Training and Research in Energy and Environment, Milan, Italy (1995-1996). After completing Master MEDEA, he has worked at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi as a Senior Project Scientist (1996–2001). He has worked at the Politecnico di Milano first as a Visiting Scientist (2001–2003) and then as a Research Fellow (2003–2005). Dr. Adhikari is involved in teaching and research activities and his research work is mainly focused on renewable energy (solar thermal, PV, and desalination), energy-efficient buildings, energy conservation, and low-energy technologies. Over the years, he has been participating in various national and international research projects and significantly contributed to energy research with more than 70 publications in various international/national journals of repute and conferences/seminars. He has also participated in the activities of IEA-Task25 under Solar Heating and Cooling programme (2001–2003) and has been a Member of the working group of IEA SHC-Task 38 (Solar Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration) and IEA PVPS-Task10 (Urban-Scale Photovoltaic Applications). He is a reviewer of various international journals of repute.
